» Supporting Jaiden

Jaiden was born on the 22/08/2010 at three weeks old Jaiden was diagnosed with Cystic FibrSupporting Jaidenosis

A life threatening condition which affects some major organs most of all his lungs.

His body cannot breakdown mucus and therefore leaves him with a thick secretion in his lungs which then becomes a breeding ground for infections -

Infections mean lung damage which inevitably affects his life expectancy.

The life expectancy for children born today with the disease stands at over half live to 37 years.

To help prevent thick secretions in the lungs Jaiden has a nebuliser twice daily followed by physiotherapy which is carried out for 20 minutes each time, this can increase when he has an infection.

We are raising funds to purchase a Chest Therapy Vest from a company called Hill-Rom (Leicester)

The vest costs £6995.00 and will last from the age of 5 months to approx 10 years, but is not available on the NHS

The vest will constantly massage his chest, which aids the breakdown of the thick mucus on his lungs

In America all children with Cystic Fibrosis have them and the research is very promising

The vest is by no means a cure, but will aid his infancy , childhood and quality of life .

March 2011

04th   A generous and lovely quote form the Local Free Press Series today

**********************************************************************************************************************

THE story of Pontypool baby Jaiden Jobbins who suffers from cystic fibrosis has touched the hearts of Free Press readers.

Get well cards and donations towards an appeal to buy a chest therapy vest for Jaiden have been sent in to our Pontypool office.

One pensioner from Blaenavon sent £5 in to the appeal, saying "It isn't much but if everybody gave £5 then we would get the vest in no time at all."

A Poem written by a local person:-

Is it too much to ask for a life of a child

If a Mother simply says

"Help my Baby"

When she is fighting for something

So special So dear

Watching him suffer

The pain anchors in her heart

Is it too much to ask for wanting

Every possible reason to see him well

Every possible reason to see him grow

Not perfect, but a light in his Mothers eyes

Teri shouts so everyone can hear her

"Please Help My Son"

X

Once again thanks for the kind donations however large or small,remember........

large rivers are always formed from small raindrops.
